The official currency of South Africa is the South African Rand, with 100 cents equal to 1 rand. Exchange bureaus can be found in towns, airports, and most hotels. It’s a good idea to exchange some currency for SA Rands, especially if you’re planning to purchase African souvenirs during your safari.
The best hunting season generally runs from May to October, when the weather is cooler and animals are more active. However, it depends on the species and type of hunt you’re interested in.
While there is no set percentage, a general guideline is to tip around 10-15% of the total cost of your trip. This is more applicable when all-inclusive packages are involved.
Hunting packages generally include accommodation, meals, transportation during the hunt, a guide, and the opportunity to hunt specific animals. Trophy fees and additional costs may be separate.
CAS offers rifle hire however you are more than welcome to bring your own rifle and gear.
Our limpopo is in a more arid zone, so rainfall during winter months is very minimal. This is beneficial for hunting because it reduces the chances of muddy conditions, making it easier to track game.
- Daytime: Temperatures are usually mild, ranging from 18°C to 25°C (64°F to 77°F).
- Nighttime: Nights can get quite cool, dropping to 5°C to 10°C (41°F to 50°F)
We recommend you bring appropriate clothing for both warm days and cool nights, sturdy boots, hunting gear, binoculars, and a valid passport. We can provide you with a detailed packing list upon booking.
